Sweets made painstakingly by hand by the proprietor of This enormous hot spring resort hotel occupies the entire peninsula that separates Katsuura Bay from the Kumano Sea. Its four shore-side buildings are linked to a building on a mountaintop by underground corridors and house a total of 682 guest rooms. Guests enjoy visiting the hotel’s four baths, including Boki-do Cave, a hot spring in a large cavern facing the Kumano Sea.
This hotel is located on a small island in Katsuura Bay, accessible by a guest launch that leaves from Katsuura Tourist Pier. It has six high-volume hot springs, and all of its outdoor baths, including Kishu Cho’mon no Yu at the water’s edge, are fed by hot water from those springs. The hotel also prides itself on cuisine that features plenty of tuna and other seafood.
